Clear…it’s a representative of a major leap forward in smartphone app design, as it’s been built from the ground up for the touch interface. The app is based solely on the use of now-common gestures: swipes, pulls and pinches. There are no buttons with Clear, and yet, it’s surprisingly simple to use. In fact, that’s the point. Monnet Design | I love the concept behind Monnet Design’s Charity holiday card for 2012 as well as the clean and informative design. The use of craft paper, a material recognized as eco friendly as well as cheap saving highlights the charity concept in addition to the strong one color print graphics and typography. Monnet Design is a design studio run by designers Stéphane Monnet, Agnes Wong, Emma Wright and Linna Xu, based in Toronto, Ontario. They specialize in branding, identity, packaging and interaction design and have created works for The Art of Time Ensemble, Gourmet Settings, Tk:aro and Ryeberg.

Quick Skate
A couple stills from after we shot our Quick Look video and FA12 Look Book. Skating in boots on greasy asphalt after a few 12 packs isn’t always the best idea, but it’s never a bad idea.
Just havin’ some fun…
More widely known for his film poster designs, today marks the re-release of Saul Bass’ picture book, Henri’s Walk to Paris. With text by Leonore Klein, Henri’s Walk tells the tale of a boy who dreams of going to Paris and one day, packs a lunch and sets off. Originally published in 1962 this classic picture book is definitely one for the children of graphic designers everywhere. Buy it here. (via Grain Edit)
